The University of Glasgow and the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) welcome you to celebrate International Digital Preservation Day at Aye Preserve on the 30 November. At the end of the session, the DPC will announce the 'Bit List' of Digitally Endangered Species.
Aye Preserve brings together individuals undertaking digital preservation in the west of Scotland and wider afield. The half-day event provides an occasion to discuss challenges and solutions and to share experiences across a network of organisations. Attendees will hear from fellow digital preservationists and will also be invited to ask questions and share their own experiences at an open session.
Following the event, the announcement of the 'Bit List' will reveal the digitally endangered species identified by the international digital preservation community over the past 3 months. These species are collections of digital content critically threatened by extinction – due to risks such as unprecedented challenges or lack of ownership.
Attendance is free and lunch will be provided at the close of the session.

International Digital Preservation Day is held on the last Thursday of every November. This year, the first ever International Digital Preservation Day, will draw together individuals and institutions from across the world to celebrate the collections preserved, the access maintained, and the understanding fostered by preserving digital materials. The aim of the day is to create greater awareness of digital preservation that will translate into a wider understanding which permeates all aspects of society – business, policy making, personal good practice.
