Key areas of responsibility will include the administration and support of the award winning HSBC Global Digital Archives system. The role includes supervising the ingest of a wide range of digital content and ensuring the global team of archivists are trained to make the best use of the Global Digital Archive system. The successful candidate will support the further development of the digital archives programme at HSBC and assist colleagues in ensuring important digital material is collected and preserved for future use.

Requirements:

The jobholder should have a first degree and a postgraduate qualification in Archives Management or Records Management/Digital Asset Management (or related discipline). The jobholder will have previous experience working in information management or archives - preferably with some time spent in a corporate environment.

You will have enthusiasm and initiative; with a strong understanding of how an effective digital archives programme is grounded in the solid governance of file formats, metadata management and the interaction of complex IT operating environments. Excellent communication, planning and project management skills are essential. Familiarity with CALM and Preservica software – or other digital preservation, EDRM or DAM systems - will be an advantage.

The position is based primarily at the HSBC Archive Centre in Canning Town, with occasional days spent at head office in Canary Wharf
