Houses of the Oireachtas joins the Digital Preservation Coalition

HouseOir bannerThe Houses of the Oireachtas (the National Parliament of Ireland) has joined the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) this month, becoming the Coalition’s newest Associate Member.

The Oireachtas Library has been serving parliamentarians since 1924 by delivering library and information services that support the work of both Houses of the Oireachtas, Committees and individual Members. The Archive is currently being established to centralise and safeguard the records and archives of the Oireachtas.

The topics covered in the set are: audio file formats, moving images and raster images.

Authored by staff at Artefactual Systems in collaboration with the DPC and developed in conjunction with the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, each of the Guidance Notes in the Data Type series is designed to provide a primer on the current state of community knowledge about types of data commonly encountered by those seeking to preserve digital holdings.

Understanding User Needs provides a pragmatic approach to conducting and interpreting a user needs analysis, whilst highlighting the importance and significance of the results.
