William Odile Christine IDCC2017 WebThis week, PhD students Christine Cullen and Odile Dumbleton from University College Dublin are in attendance at the IDCC 2017 conference in Edinburgh with support from the DPC's Leadership Programme. Pictured right with the DPC's Executive Director, William Kilbride, the scholarship recipients are making the most of this unique opportunity to hear from and network with leading practitioners in the field of digital preservation and research data management. The opportunity to attend the conference will have a significant impact on their own research. They have already been actively contributing to Twitter coverage of the event and will be writing for the DPC blog, so keep an eye out for their posts coming soon!

The DPC Leadership programme offers regular scholarships to support member's training and professional development. The scheme has been extended in 2016 to include conference attendance in addition to training courses. This change comes in response the growing maturity of the digital preservation field and the clearly identified needs of members for development opportunities beyond introductory training. In addition to the regular calls, DPC members are welcome to nominate new training and development opportunities for inclusion in the Leadership Programme by getting in touch with the Head of Training and Skills, Sharon McMeekin (sharon.mcmeekin[at]dpconline.org).
