Audio Visual Special Interest Group

30 Sep 2024 at 1:00pm - 30 Sep 2024 at 2:00pm UTC
Online
Members Only

This online members-only event will be held on the 30th of September from 1:00pm - 2:00pm UTC (click for local time).

This will be the Group’s first meeting since it’s official name change, from “Working Group” to “Special Interest Group”. What hasn’t changed is that the Audiovisual Special Interest Group (AVSIG) brings together DPC Members in order to discuss issues and challenges relating to the preservation of digital content that is either audio, video, or both. The AVSIG provides an opportunity to share experiences, discuss good practice, and identify and address common problems. It aims to complement, not duplicate, the activities of any pre-existing groups, meetings, or activities that address the long-term preservation of AV content. Priority is given to discussions of real-world experiences and examples of proven good practice.

This will be a drop-in session, with no formal presentations (unless someone wants to volunteer!). Attendees are welcome to bring along any questions for the Group or to report on recent activities. This meeting will take place shortly after iPRES2024, No Time to Wait 8, and IASA2024, so we’re hoping that some attendees may wish to share insights or comment on presentations heard at these events.

If you have any questions or suggested topics for future meetings, please email: michael.popham@dpconline.org

We encourage diversity in all its forms and are committed to being accessible to everyone who wishes to engage with the topic of digital preservation, whilst remaining technology and vendor neutral. We ask all those who are part of this community and/or attending an event to be positive, accepting, and sensitive to the needs and feelings of others in alignment with our DPC Inclusion & Diversity Policy
