For WDPD this year DPC Australasia and Asia-Pacific will be holding an online celebration of three groups working with Indigenous communities from our region who were winners or finalists in the 2024 Digital Preservation Awards. The awards ceremony was held at iPRES 2024 in Ghent, Belgium on 16 September 2024.
The session will show video presentations made by three local finalists for this year’s awards and will be followed by a live online discussion with representatives from each group to find out more about their projects, why they are important for these communities and what they are planning next.
There will also be time for a live Q&A session – so please come along if you’d like to find out more about these fantastic local initiatives:
Collaborative models of care: Preserving Australian First Nations digital cultural heritage
Pacific and Regional Archive for Digital Sources in Endangered Cultures (PARADISEC)

Speakers will include Rebecca Barnott-Clement from Collaborative Models of Care and a representative from Bula'bula Art Centre, Nick Thieberger from PARADISEC and Taputukura Raea from Digital Pasifik.
