This online members-only event will be held on the 25th of November from 12:00am - 1:00am UTC/11:00am - 12:00pm AEDT (click for local time).
The Audiovisual Special Interest Group (AVSIG) brings together any interested staff from DPC Member organizations to discuss issues and challenges relating to the preservation of digital content that is either audio, video, or both. The AVSIG provides an opportunity to share experiences, discuss good practice, and identify and address common problems. It aims to complement, not duplicate, the activities of any pre-existing groups, meetings, or activities that address the long-term preservation of AV content. Priority is given to discussions of real-world experiences and examples of proven good practice.
This session is specially timed to suit Members in the Australasia and Asia-Pacific time zones: 11:00-12:00 AEDT (08:00-09:00 SGT, 13:00-14:00 NZDT).
We will begin with a presentation from Andrew Martin, Digital Preservation Co-ordinator of the National Museum of Australia. Attendees are welcome to bring along any questions for the Group or to report on recent activities. This meeting will take place shortly after iPRES2024, No Time to Wait 8, IASA2024, and Fantastic Futures 2024 so we’re hoping that some attendees may wish to share insights or comment on presentations given at these (or similar) events.
The presentation given at this meeting will be recorded.
If you have any questions or suggested topics for future meetings, please email: michael.popham@dpconline.org
