In this #DPClinic we’ll begin by hearing from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) about their Digital Preservation Framework for Risk Assessment and Preservation Planning. The Framework is published via a public-facing website (https://www.archives.gov/preservation/digital-preservation/risk) and as a linked data resource (https://www.archives.gov/preservation/digital-preservation/linked-data), and the source information is also available via a GitHub repository (https://github.com/usnationalarchives/digital-preservation). We’ll get an overview of the information contained in the Framework, and how it is being used.

We will then move into a more general discussion of how others are using the Framework, how it might be used, and what would need to change or be added to encourage take up. So if you have a comment or use case for the Framework, or any thoughts on suggestions on how it might be improved, we’d love to hear from you! Please come along and help shape the future development of this important digital preservation resource.

DPC Inclusion & Diversity Policy

The DPC Community is guided by the values set out in our Strategic Plan and aims to be respectful, welcoming, inclusive and transparent - the same applies to #DPConnect sessions. We encourage diversity in all its forms and are committed to being accessible to everyone who wishes to engage with the topic of digital preservation, whilst remaining technology and vendor neutral. We ask all those who are part of this community and/or attending a #DPConnect session to be positive, accepting, and sensitive to the needs and feelings of others in alignment with our DPC Inclusion & Diversity Policy.

Zoom may now require you to have a personal account in order to join a meeting. Therefore please could you register for an account in advance of #DPConnect, if you do not have one already. The sign up link is here: https://zoom.us/signup
