Museums and Galleries Working Group Meeting

9 May 2024 at 4:30pm - 9 May 2024 at 5:30pm UTC
Online
Members Only

The Museums and Galleries Working Group brings together DPC Members working with digital content in museums and galleries to discuss digital preservation issues. This working group is intended as a supportive network for those with responsibilities for digital preservation in this context. It provides a regular forum for making contacts, building relationships, learning from peers and sharing successes and challenges.

Discussions within the group may focus on specific challenges relating to digital preservation in museums and galleries, for example how to advocate for digital preservation, how to manage large and/or complex digital collections and challenges relating to enabling access. The agenda will be led by the group, reflecting current topics and concerns for group members.

This group had its first meeting in March 2023 and meets every two months, with timings rotating to allow engagement across different time zones.

The terms and conditions for this Working Group can be found here.

In our May 2024 meeting we will be hearing two case studies from the Getty related to their current digital preservation work.

If you are a DPC Member working on the preservation of digital content in museums and galleries and would like to join this group, please email eleanor.oleary@dpconline.org

Joining details and agenda will be circulated to group members a week before this meeting. Notes of meeting and recordings of presentations (where available) will be circulated to group members after the meeting.
