Project Overview/Role Description

Sellafield Ltd is the company responsible for safely delivering decommissioning, reprocessing and nuclear waste management activities on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

The Information and Records Manager role resides within the Information Management function of the Information Services Organisation. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed team that is expected to grow in scope and maturity over the next 2 years.

Deliverables (for contract)

Reporting to the Head of Information Management, the chosen candidate will lead and manage a team that acts to provide proactive and compelling advice to both the Information Services Organisation and the wider Sellafield Ltd business, thereby ensuring both information assets and record holdings are managed to maximise their value to the business and in accordance with its strategic imperatives. The role holder is accountable for ensuring that a highly capable ISO I&RM Advisory team is fully engaged across the whole of the business applying the company’s strategy for I&RM, standards and performance expectations in a collaborative partnering relationship; thereby fostering a culture that values the importance of information and records critical to delivering the mission of Sellafield Ltd.

Essential/Desirable Skills

Essential skills

  • An I&RM related Degree (equivalent or higher) accredited by either the Archives and Records Association (ARA), the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) or the Information and Records Management Society (IRMS).
  • Experience of applying recognised I&RM standards and technical working in a highly regulated environment.
  • Technically competent with strategic influencing skills to effectively interface and influence at a senior business level.
  • A proven track record of preparing Business Cases, linking benefits to business value and business needs and sponsoring enterprise wide initiatives.
  • Can assimilate complex and technical I&RM related problems, derive solutions and communicate them in a summarised manner.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise I&RM systems, Data Visualisation and Discovery Systems, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence tools and Data Management practices.
  • Proven success in setting goals, leading change and performance management initiatives.
  • Previous experience managing an I&RM function, preferably in a highly regulated and challenging environment.
  • Digital I&RM related programme management experience.

Desirable skills

  • Managing I&RM related customer centric services and communication skills.
  • Working experience of digital data preservation and continuity practices.
  • An ability to engage with stakeholders and build networks of influence for sharing ideas, problems and innovative solutions in a challenging I&RM environment.
