Oxford University Museum of Natural History holds significant digital assets relating to all areas of Museum activity and core goal of the OUMNH Strategy 2020-23 is to set up systems to preserve and manage them to the same standard as its physical collections. This is a very exciting opportunity to work on extensive physical and digital archives and make them available to a wider audience.

OUMNH requires an experienced Digital Archivist with hands-on experience of the implementation and management of Digital Asset Management Systems and in-depth understanding of digital preservation principles and techniques. The post holder will be responsible for managing and preserving digital assets with a specific focus on the implementation of a Digital Preservation Policy and a ResourceSpace Digital Asset Management System. The role will also involve improving access to the Archive collections through targeted digitisation and cataloguing to an ISAD(G) standard using the Museum’s Axiell EMu Collections Management System, which will be integrated with the DAMS.

Applicants are required to complete the online application form on Oxford University’s website and include a CV and supporting statement addressing the selection criteria. The supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post using examples of your skills and experience. This may include experience gained in employment, education, or during career breaks (such as time out to care for dependants).
