We are looking for an archivist to join the Digital Archives team in this exciting and rewarding role.
You will be analysing and preparing born-digital records for ingest into the digital archive and undertaking complex arrangement and description activities to enhance access to the Queensland State Archives collection.
In this role you will:

undertake complex arrangement and description of activities of archival records in all digital and analogue formats according to the Australian Series System and institutional standards

prepare born-digital records for ingest into the digital preservation system. This includes using the Forensic Recovery of Evidence Device (FRED) to extract records from physical media

create policies and procedures for managing born-digital records including ingest, storage, preservation, arrangement and description and access and take an active role in managing these records

contribute to the analysis of the archival management system and the digital archive and make recommendations for improvement

set and maintain standards in line with national and international trends and best practice and promote and communicate these standards internally to ensure consistent, accurate contextual and descriptive documentation

research and prepare complex reports, presentations, correspondence and documents.
