This post will work part time, 28hrs per week as: Tuesday 09:00-17:00, Wednesday – Thursday 09:00-17:15, Friday 09:00-16:30.

This is a unique opportunity to join at a pivotal moment for the Library as we embark on the transformation of our services and launch a new strategy. We are looking for inspiring, credible, and authentic team players.

This is an opportunity to join this front facing Library team responsible for facilitating the day to day running of the Modern Records Centre by the production and return of archival material, supervision and support of customers in the MRC Reading Room, and provision of general and administrative support for the running of the archives service.

The successful candidates will provide support for a range of face to face and virtual enquiry services. It’s an opportunity to support the operational delivery and development of excellent frontline customer services, including all the Library’s diverse customer communities. 

About You  

We are looking for outstanding candidates to join our Customer Services Archive Assistant team.

You will have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a diverse range of people. You will be willing to learn, keen to take on new challenges and be able to work in a constantly evolving, customer focused environment. You will be highly motivated and enthusiastic with an interest in or appreciation of history.
