We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the BFI’s Data & Digital Preservation team.  The Cyber Security Engineer will undertake proactive and reactive cyber security work to prevent, detect and remediate cyber security risks and threats in the BFI National Archive’s operational environment.  They will also implement and undertake good practice measures for vulnerability detection and management across the Archive’s networking, hardware, software and working practices, to mitigate cyber security risks 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Research, recommend and implement effective cyber security measures and policies to mitigate risks and reduce threats to Archive operations, collections data and digital collections 

  • Use available cyber security systems and tools to undertake proactive vulnerability scanning across the Archive’s network, devices and systems; prioritise and undertake remediation of vulnerabilities and produce reports on status and progress over time 

  • Use available detection and response solutions and services to monitor and assess security events; respond to, manage, escalate and report on potential security incidents in line with established Incident Response Procedure 

  • Lead on cyber security analysis, improvements, monitoring and incident response with suppliers of the Archive’s Collections Information Database and its externally hosted network
