Are you an expert in digital preservation who would like to share your skills with the widest possible audience? Tate is looking for a committed, enthusiastic person to preserve and manage our digital resources and be an advocate for developing digital preservation expertise across the organisation. You will be a suitably qualified Digital Preservation Manager who will take ownership in promoting the understanding of digital preservation across the organisation and help in setting up and adopting appropriate standards and being an active member of the Digital Asset Management Steering Group that is shaping digital preservation within Tate.
As a Department, the Technology team at Tate deliver operational, systems development, and information management services to over 1,200 users internally across five sites, as well as supporting our website and platforms which are viewed and accessed across the world.
Reporting to the Head of Business Solutions you will make certain that Tate’s digital resources are well-managed and accessible. As well as developing action plans and reviewing policies and strategies, you will also be creating staff training programmes to ensure Tate systems accommodate all defined digital preservation metadata. To succeed you’ll need an impressive track record of managing digital rich media resources, developing metadata schemes to support preservation, and of training users. This includes good knowledge of preservation systems such as Archivematica or Preservica and knowledge of preservation metadata standards.
