National Archives of Australia is looking for a digital preservation specialist who is experienced in the management of digital archival records.

The successful applicant will drive the ongoing development and implementation of National Archives' digital preservation agenda, including designing and implementing procedures to ensure the ongoing safety of, and access to, National Archives' digitised and digital born records.  This will include: developing an in-depth knowledge of the current and future needs of National Archives’ digital collection; providing high level support in relation to digital preservation formats, associated metadata and standards; carrying out activities associated with the management of unidentified digital formats; designing and implementing new methods for managing complex digital records; and, working with information technology staff to oversee and test the ongoing effectiveness of National Archives' digital storage solutions.

The successful applicant will also have experience managing teams and their performance, and will have proven experience with developing and maintaining professional networks.

The successful candidate will also have a degree in information studies, archival or conservation science, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Eligibility:  Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.
