The Role We are looking for a Product Owner who will be responsible for identifying how product initiatives can be converted into user stories and acceptance criteria to allow our engineering team to develop features to our customers. You will work within the engineering team to transform and shape Preservica to ultimately deliver upon the product vision.
The main duties include gathering, understanding and acting on requirements. This means being heavily involved during all stages of the product process including planning, designing, developing, testing and being responsible for supporting the team delivering accurately and on time.

A well-rounded knowledge in software delivery and integration delivery, data storage or preservation knowledge is useful but not essential

The ability to work closely alongside developers; understand the technology, its capabilities and know what’s feasible

To work closely alongside the Product Manager and help turn high level requirements into deliverable product.

To be an expert in gathering requirements, creating user stories, defining acceptance criteria, producing accurate estimates and managing stakeholder expectations.

An understanding of the importance of extracting and creating functional specifications, user requests and user needs
You will also need to:

Work to tight deadlines, get involved in Scrum meetings, work closely with the engineers and testers and understand their realistic capabilities and provide feedback to the management team.

Be able to act as a proxy Product Manager sometimes, so you have to be very confident in supporting them and keen in helping manage the Product strategy and maintain the backlogs

Be personable and with great communication skills be pro-active, confident to present in front of clients when required

Be able to communicate with senior level stakeholders and involve yourself not just from the requirements gathering, but also guiding the team and advising on tricky situations

Be able to think on your feet, act autonomously and take responsibility.
