The Digital Archives Innovation and Research (DAIR) section is leading a transformative program to assist the National Archives achieve its vision of being a world leading archive in the digital age. This includes maintaining awareness of emerging developments in digital archival practice, engaging with the local and international digital archiving community, developing policies to support long-term preservation of and access to digital material, supporting the implementation of archival management systems and building digital archiving capability within the organisation. The DAIR is responsible for ensuring the National Archives preserves digital information by researching, designing and implementing contemporary digital archiving techniques.
The DAIR section is seeking applications to fill to role of Senior Data Analyst. The role will research and undertake data analysis and build data visualisations to inform decision making and bring data to life for end users. The role will also scope and develop regular reports for key business functions and prepare written reports, infographics and presentations detailing the findings and analysis.
The role offers a unique opportunity to develop new insights into the use and management of National Archives’ collection spanning 40 million items, including records about military service, immigration, First Australians and much more.
