Reporting to the Digital Preservation Manager, the Software Preservation Program Manager is responsible for managing and growing the Emulation as a Service Infrastructure (EaaSI) Program of work (https://eaasi.info). EaaSI is a world-leading program of work providing open-source software and services that make emulation practical for use in long term digital preservation workflows.
The successful candidate will have an opportunity to make a wide impact on the national and international memory sector by ensuring historic and valuable digital artifacts can be accessed by future generations using original software.
The Software Preservation Program Manager will manage: The budget of the EaaSI program of work. The computing infrastructure supporting EaaSI’s development and the hosted cloud instances of EaaSI. The software development process for the EaaSI software, including working with a team of developers predominantly based in Europe. The work of the Software Preservation Analyst who reports to the Program Manager. Communications, outreach, and marketing of the program with a goal of increasing the user base and ensuring an engaged and active community of users and contributors.
The Program Manager will also work to finalize and implement the business plan for the ongoing support of the program post grant funding. Additionally, the Program Manager will become proficient with Yale’s project management tools, services, and methodologies.
The position has grant-based funding through June 2024 with a strong possibility of moving to organizational funding following this.
This position participates in Yale’s “predominantly remote” working arrangement. No on-campus office will be assigned and working remotely will be expected.
