The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce that John McMillan is the new Head of Administration and Finance; a successor for Alyson Campbell who is retiring.
John is well known to many of the digital preservation community already since he joined the DPC as Administration Manager in January 2020.
William Kilbride, Executive Director of the DPC, welcomed the news saying: “John has been a capable and impressive presence in many of the DPC’s activities since he joined us. Not only has he effectively managed the administration around the DPC Board and Council, he has organised the allocation of places for ‘Novice to Know How’ training, wrangled significant technical challenges for #WeMissiPRES and has worked ‘through the night’ with the DPC’s Australasia Stakeholder Group. He is a tremendous asset to the team!”
John’s significant previous experience in banking and IT stand him in good stead as he takes charge of the DPC’s finance and business management elements of the Coalition’s work.
John will take up the new appointment with effect from 1st August 2021.
