The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is pleased to offer a Career Development Fund grant for a DPC member to attend the Northeast Document Conservation Center's (NEDCC) Digital Directions 2025, taking place online from 22-24 April 2025.

This Career Development Fund grant will cover 100% of the full registration fees. Grant applications are welcomed from DPC members until 17:00 EST | 22:00 UTC on 25 February 2025, and more details are provided below.

 

About NEDCC Digital Directions

NEDCC’s Digital Directions: Foundations for Digital Collections provides a comprehensive overview of digital preservation, presented by information professionals with deep experience in the preservation of cultural heritage materials. During three half-days of live, interactive, online training, you will learn foundational concepts, good practices, and practical strategies for managing digital collections, and you’ll gain confidence in decision-making for the preservation of your digital assets.

Topics include:

  • key concepts and terminology in digital preservation
  • building a digital project
  • metadata
  • copyright
  • digital preservation tools
  • special considerations for audiovisual and born-digital materials
  • digital storage
  • advocacy

About the DPC Career Development Fund Grant

This DPC Career Development Fund grant will cover 100% of the full registration fees for Digital Directions 2025, which includes access to live presentations and recordings (see the Logistics page for more information).

 

Eligibility

DPC Members are eligible to apply for this Career Development Fund grant. This grant is not available to non-members. Prospective members are eligible if their membership application is approved by the application deadline of 17:00 EST | 22:00 UTC on 25 February 2025. Please note that a DPC Member may submit a maximum of one application for one applicant for this advertised grant for Digital Directions 2025 (e.g., one application for a person representing a DPC member organization). We recommend that any member organization which supports an application discusses appropriate outcomes and benefits for the organization prior to submission. Moreover, because only one grant is available per member institution, we recommend that applicants ensure that they are not inadvertently competing with colleagues.
