Featuring dedicated webinars to showcase product and service offerings, panel discussions to demonstrate approaches to the latest challenges, as well as participation in the DPC’s ongoing program of thematic events, the DPC Supporter Program is open to any organization which has an established relationship with the digital preservation community through the provision of digital preservation services, solutions, tools or consultancy.
The new DPC Supporter Program also offers a tiered structure which is designed to enable providers of all types, sizes and maturity to access and benefit from opportunities to connect with the DPC membership.
“A diversity of voices and approaches makes for a vibrant and diversified market of solutions,” explains Sarah Middleton, Head of Advocacy and Community Engagement for the DPC. “Therefore, from August 2023, the Supporter Program will be accessible to agencies of all types and sizes on an equitable basis.”
Larger agencies with more than 250 employees or with a listing on relevant stock market indices are invited to participate in the DPC Supporter Program with a surcharge which recognizes the size of the company, whilst Sole Traders, micro-agencies and companies who offer purely open-source solutions may apply for a discount which ensures they are able to participate equitably. New entrants into the digital preservation market are also welcome to participate in the DPC Supporter Program, whether new or existing agencies, and may also apply for a discount on a trial basis provided they can meet other requirements.
Funds from the DPC Supporter Program are allocated to support participation in the DPC’s activities through grants to members for training and staff development; the Digital Preservation Awards; research and development projects; and to support participation in the DPC in low or middle-income countries. All DPC Supporters will be acknowledged in communications related to these activities.
The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance. Its vision is a secure digital legacy.
