About the Opening the Archives Conference

Join the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA)Archives & Records Association of New Zealand Te Huinga Mahara (ARANZ), and Pacific Regional Branch International Council on Archives (PARBICA) this October to share your experiences & strategies for #OpeningTheArchives through access, engagement or other innovative avenues. The conference aims to bring together a wide range of views on what ‘opening’ the archives means; how this has been, or might be, achieved, and when it should not. It is also a space to explore the challenges and opportunities posed by new technologies, increased accessibility, and the acknowledgement of historical and cultural sensibilities.

The conference will be held from 22 - 25 October 2024 and will be a hybrid event offering in-person and online attendance options. For more information, please visit the Opening the Archives conference website here
