The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce that Robin Wright will join its staff in May in the full-time role of Head of DPC Australasia & Asia-Pacific.
Robin joins the DPC most recently from Swinburne University of Technology where she manages the library’s Scholarly Resources team providing digital content licensing and acquisition, records management, copyright services and open access policy development.
Robin has extensive legal and copyright expertise and has led various digital projects including the Open Education Licensing project and the pioneering SWIFT/PAML digital broadband video delivery project at Cinemedia (now Australian Centre for the Moving Image).
Based in Melbourne, Robin will maintain the excellent momentum behind the DPC’s recent activities in the region. Continuing to support and expand the established and existing digital preservation community in Australasia, such as Australasia Preserves, Robin will grow the initiative into its next phase complementing, celebrating and sustaining Australasian activities and amplifying them for the rest of the DPC.
“We are very excited that Robin is joining us. She brings a wealth of talent and contacts to the DPC at a crucial time in our development," said William Kilbride the DPC's Executive Director. "The Coalition has grown rapidly in recent years, especially in Australia, as the need for digital preservation skills and advocacy become more pressing. Robin's experience will help us realise the opportunities ahead of us, and make sure that the benefits of growth are shared across the entire network.'
Robin will join the staff from 16th May 2022.
