The biggest celebration of the year is just one week away today: World Digital Preservation Day (#WDPD2024) will take place on Thursday, November 7th!
With the theme Preserving Our Digital Content: Celebrating Communities, WDPD2024 is a great opportunity to connect the digital preservation community, and to celebrate the digital legacy of all types of communities around the world.
New roadmap to pave the way for a PID-optimised research ecosystem for Ireland

A new report which sets out recommendations and a roadmap for a national persistent identifier (PID) strategy for Ireland has been launched today, 25 October 2024, by Ireland’s National Open Research Forum (NORF) at the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin.
Titled Interoperability, Openness, and Impact – Recommendations and Roadmap for an Irish National PID Strategy, the report was prepared by NORF and the NORF PID Task Force, in consultation with the scholarly communications consultants MoreBrains Cooperative.

Members of the Digital Preservation Community are invited to attend a Digital Preservation Games Event at Kings College London Archives, 19th November, 6-8pm.
Kings College London Archives hosts Digital Preservation games every few months both in person and online. In-person events are held at: Kings College London Archives, Strand Building, Strand, London WC2R 2LS (see: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/library/collections/archives). Online events can be accessed via a teams meeting link sent out before the event on registration.
Call for Applicants: DPC Grant for IDCC25 in The Hague

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is pleased to offer a Career Development Fund grant to support a DPC Member attending the 19th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC25) taking place 17-19 February 2025 in The Hague, the Netherlands.
This Career Development Fund grant will cover 100% of online or in-person conference registration fees, and provide a contribution towards travel and accommodation if attending in person. Grant applications are welcomed from DPC members until 07:00 UTC on 12 November 2024, and more details are provided below.
