Fixed Term

The ARCHIVER Project - Archiving and Preservation for Research Environments - will introduce radical improvements in the area of archiving and digital preservation services, supporting the IT requirements of European scientists and providing end-to-end archival and preservation services for data generated in the context of research and development projects. The project is managed by a consortium of procurer research organisations (CERN, DESY, EMBL-EBI and PIC) and experts (Addestino and Trust-IT) and receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

With a total procurement budget of 3.4 million euros, the project will use a Pre-Commercial Procurement approach to competitively procure R&D services from firms in three stages covering design, prototyping and pilot, over the next 3 years (Jan 2019 - Dec 2021). The resulting services will become part of the catalogue of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiative funded by the EU (https://www.eosc-portal.eu/).

An open market consultation (OMC) event will be organised to communicate the demand-side need and potential use cases to interested firms, and to identify the innovation potential and feasibility of the project with the market. The process, intended to be evolutionary, is comprised of several preparation events focusing on different communities, followed by the OMC event held at CERN in April. Events are scheduled as follows:

  • ARCHIVER Open Market Consultation Preparation Session for Photon-Neutron Sciences (20 February 2019 - DESY)
  • ARCHIVER Open Market Consultation Preparation  Session for Astrophysics and Cosmology (06 March 2019 – PIC)
  • ARCHIVER Open Market Consultation Preparation  Session for Life Sciences (20 March 2019 - EMBL)
  • ARCHIVER Open Market Consultation Session (08 April 2019 – CERN)

More information will be available shortly on the project website: http://archiver-project.eu/

Firms interested in participating in the preparation events and in the OMC event should register here as soon as possible: https://goo.gl/forms/XE9PLrI6kTwnOawP2.

A corresponding Prior Information Notice (PIN) will appear shortly in the OJEU.

Kind regards,

The ARCHIVER Project Office
