The National Museum of Australia joins the Digital Preservation Coalition

Added on 28 March 2023

Amidst the excitement of the Digital Preservation Coalition’s (DPC) Relaunch Roadshow series of events to celebrate the successful establishment of its Melbourne Office, the Coalition is delighted to welcome the National Museum of Australia (NMA) as its newest Associate member.

Located in Canberra, the NMA tells stories of Australia with a particular focus on First Nations histories and culture, European settlement, and interaction with the environment. These stories are ever evolving and growing and, in the 21st century, are being played out across both the physical and digital landscape. In response to these cultural and societal shifts, the Museum is embarking on a bold digital transformation initiative to research, refine and develop collecting and display practices in this era of digital change.

Digital Preservation Business Case Toolkit 2.0 now available!

Added on 19 March 2023

DPC Policy Cover smallThe Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is relaunching an updated version of the Digital Preservation Business Case Toolkit to coincide with the start of a week-long Relaunch Roadshow in Australasia this week.

Focused on digital preservation activities, the Toolkit provides a guide to writing a business case and starts with factors to consider whilst planning your case, before offering templates and a step-by-step guide to drafting, construction and delivery.

“There is no perfect formula for writing a business case… as is often the case in digital preservation, it all depends on what the business case is for, who it is aimed at and how your organization wants you to present it,” explains Paul Wheatley, Head of Research and Practice for the DPC. “However, this toolkit provides a variety of practical ways to get you thinking about what makes a great business case, and how you can start to build one for your organisation.”
