Archives of the Council of the European Union become newest member of the Digital Preservation Coalition

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to announce that the Archives of the Council of the European Union have joined as its newest Associate Member.
The Archives of the Council of the European Union preserve the institutional memory of both the Council of the European Union and the European Council, storing and providing access to historical files dating back to the first Council meeting in 1952. Their collections offer a unique opportunity to retrace the Council’s history and its role in European integration.
By joining the DPC, the Council Archives connect with an international community of digital preservation practitioners committed to ensuring long-term access to digital records of enduring value.

The Great Digital Preservation Bake Off returns to the annual iPRES conference, and the kitchen is officially open for submissions. If you have a digital preservation tool, script, workflow, or workaround you're proud of, this is your moment. The Bake Off is a live tool demonstration session — no slides, no sales pitches, just you, your tool, and a shared dataset. Ten minutes. Make it count.
2026 NDSA Digital Preservation Conference - Call for Proposals Now Open

Digital Preservation 2026, NDSA's virtual conference taking place on 4–5 November 2026, is themed Striking a Balance: Optimizing Labor for Sustainability and Resilience.
As digital preservation professionals, we are accustomed to juggling diverse tasks and balancing multiple priorities. However, recent technological and political developments have impacted our perspectives on labor and how we can best allocate resources and effort. For the 2026 NDSA Digital Preservation conference, we invite proposals that explore the ways that we approach, manage, and perform labor from multiple angles.
University of Edinburgh seeking interviewees for research project on AI scraping of digital repositories
