Call for Applicants: DPC Grant for 2023 AMaGA Conference in Australia

The DPC is pleased to offer a new Career Development Fund grant for the Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) National Conference 2023 (#AMaGA2023), being held 16-19 May across Murrook Cultural Centre, Newcastle City Hall and Civic Theatre in Awabakal & Worimi Land Newcastle, Australia.

The grant will cover 100% of the registration fees as well as a contribution towards travel and accommodation. More details about the grant are provided below, and applications are welcomed from DPC members.

iPRES 2023 Call for Contributions - Deadline Closes 10 March

The Call for Contributions for iPRES 2023 closes on March 10, 2023. 

iPRES 2023 will be a hybrid conference. The conference team invites original contributions that will develop new directions for preservation research, practice, and policy; discuss trends in the field that will influence future work; and explore new ways of understanding the changing nature of information. Submissions from researchers and practitioners who work with digital objects in a variety of contexts are welcomed. The goal of the conference is to foster an interdisciplinary dialogue about the challenges and opportunities for preserving the world's digital content over time, while strengthening the capacity, resiliency, and equity of the digital preservation community. While on-site participation for those presenting on the program is strongly encouraged, a limited number of remote presentation opportunities will be provided.

MIX 2023 Call for Presentations and Papers: Storytelling in Immersive Media

MIX 2023, a biennial conference on where and how creative writing and emerging technologies meet, will be co-hosted by Bath Spa University and the British Library on 7 July, 2023 at the British Library, London. 

It will coincide with the British Library’s Digital Storytelling exhibition of digital literature and emerging formats, which will highlight digital publishing over recent years. MIX 2023 will enable scholars and practitioners to come together to explore the exhibition at the British Library as well as share current research and practice in the rapidly developing field of storytelling in immersive environments.

Email Preservation: The UK National Archives and DPC to deliver new training course in the Novice to Know-How series

The National Archives in the UK and the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) are collaborating on a project to develop a new online training course on email preservation. The training is the latest in the digital preservation learning pathway “Novice to Know-How” (N2KH)  and will be launched in June 2023.

DPC Working Groups and Task Forces: New opportunities to collaborate in 2023

This year the DPC offers new, and revised, Working Groups and Task Forces to cover a range of digital preservation interests and goals. Open to all DPC members, these groups provide regular fora to exchange good practice, discuss challenges faced and raise gaps in capability for future development.

The Working Groups will explore a specific subject area on an ongoing basis, while Task Forces will address a specific task on a time-limited basis.
