The BFI joins the Digital Preservation Coalition

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) is delighted to welcome the British Film Institute (BFI) as its newest Full Member.
With responsibility for the UK’s national moving image archive, the BFI collects and preserves the UK’s film, television and associated special collections, library books and journals. Digital preservation interests include digitized and born-digital acquisitions, at high volume.
“The BFI National Archive has been involved informally in DPC events and initiatives for a few years, and has benefitted immensely from the expertise, resources and support that the DPC’s membership community generates,” explains Stephen McConnachie, Head of Digital Preservation for BFI.
Digital Preservation Coalition opens 18th International Conference on Digital Preservation in Glasgow

The Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) opens the International Conference on Digital Preservation, iPres 2022, at the impressive Technology & Innovation Centre in their home city of Glasgow today.
Bringing together over 600 information scientists, students, researchers, archivists, librarians, service providers, software developers and practitioners, iPres is the premier and longest-running conference series on digital preservation. Since 2004, annual iPres conferences have been hosted around the globe on four continents. And this year, between 12th – 16th September, the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) hosts the 18th conference as part of their 20th Anniversary celebrations.
